Activities summer and fall season

From June 19 - October 18

Mountain hiking and fishing

Spend a few days at Upsete. There are many opportunities for hiking in valleys such as Upsetedalen, Slondalen, Ugjerdsdalen, Gangdalen and Breidalen. All with rivers and fishing lakes. Some also have fine waterfalls. There are trout in all lakes and rivers, and fishing licenses can be purchased from the landowners. There is information about fishing licenses located right by Fjellstova.

It is possible to walk from Upsete to Myrdal and Flåm through Ugjerdsdalen on an old cattle trail. There are also many summit hikes such as to Trollanut with views to Flåm, Fossdalsskavlen,

Trails and peaks

Vossaskavlen, Øykjafonn to name but a few. There is a T-marked trail to Kaldavasshytta and on to Hallingskeid. From Kaldavatne there is also a T-marked trail to Myrdal. From Upsete there is a T-marked trail to Grindaflethytta and on to Flåm through an area so valuable that it has been included in UNESCO's World Heritage Site by the Nærøyfjord. Some of the tours can be challenging, but many are suitable for families with children and the elderly. We are happy to help with planning the tours.

Cycling

In summer/autumn, you can cycle up and down the beautiful Raundalen valley. The route takes you through scenic surroundings, past cottage villages and old farms. The last part of the trip goes from Mjølfjell on the old Rallarvegen road up to Upsete. If you stay overnight at Fjellstova, you can choose to take the train to Myrdal and Flåmsdalen, return down Upsetedalen and Raundalen to Voss or walk over the mountain to Myrdal.
